US drive-through coffee chain Dutch Bros aims to double its store count to 2,029 outlets by 2029.
The announcement was made at the company’s annual investor day held in Tempe in the US state of Arizona on 27 March 2025, at which the potential for more than 7,000 stores in the US was also highlighted.
The company reached 1,000 outlets in February 2025 and has a presence across 18 states in the US.
At the annual investor day, Dutch Bros chief executive officer and president Christine Barone stated: “We are pleased to deliver quarter-to-date Q1 [first quarter] same-shop sales above our expectations, supported by positive traffic and strong business momentum. This positive trend is a testament to the strength of our brand and the dedication of our team.
“Last month [March 2025] we proudly opened our 1,000th shop, and with a strong roadmap ahead, we are focused on our bold goal of reaching 2,029 shops in 2029. Led by field operations teams deeply rooted in our culture and hungry to grow and supported by a leadership team with complementary skills and firsthand knowledge of scale, we are well positioned to deliver sustainable, long-term value while staying true to our mission of making a massive difference, one cup at a time.”
In February 2025, Dutch Bros appointed former KFC executive Brian Cahoe as chief development officer.
Cahoe’s role includes spearheading new store openings and implementing the coffee chain’s broader development strategy.
So far in 2025, Dutch Bros has opened 27 new stores, with three more expected to launch in the coming days.
In line with its growth objectives, Dutch Bros previously set a goal of at least 160 new stores in 2025.
For the full year 2024 (FY24), the company’s total revenues grew 32.6% to $1.28bn as against $965.8m in 2023 (FY23).
Its net income was $66.5m in FY24 as compared to $10m in FY23.
It opened 151 new shops, of which 128 were company-operated, across 18 US states in FY24.
The coffee chain expects total revenues to be between $1.55bn and $1.57bn for the full year 2025, and capital expenditures to be between $240m and $260m.
